On Dec. 7, we honored December's Students of the Month, Josh Wilson from Farmington High School and Jacob Meeker from North Trail Elementary. We also had the privilege of honoring Janet Thomas as our Senior Citizen of the Month.

Jacob Meeker is a fifth-grade student at Northtrail Elementary. He says volunteering is important to him because it makes him feel good inside and he likes helping people. He participates in band, choir and theater, and enjoys basketball, soccer and baseball, playing the piano and driving John Deere tractors, among other things. His parents are Josh and Karen Meeker.

Josh Wilson is a senior at Farmington High School, and was selected as a student of the month for his leadership and service. Josh is active in track and cross country, Farmington Faith Club, New Dimension Choir, Link Crew, Tiger Leadership, National Honor Society, and is president of the Student Council. He has also been to Guatemala on a mission trip.

Volunteering is important to Josh because he enjoys helping others by bringing light into their lives, and believes it's important to "pay it forward." Josh's parents are Steve and Andrea Wilson.

Janet Thomas was honored for her Service Above Self as Farmington Rotary's senior citizen of the month. Janet volunteers extensively with Trinity Health Campus and St. Michael's Catholic Church, and resides in Farmington with her husband, Keith. They have two grown children.
