International Exchange Student Program

During the 2004/05 school year the Farmington Rotary Club sponsored a Farmington student who traveled to Japan for one year and also hosted a student from France that same year.
Exchange Student

Students who are intrigued by the idea of spending one year residing in another country and who are fascinated by the prospect of living with another family while learning about a new culture may want to consider the Rotary International Youth Exchange Program.

Meeting new friends with diverse backgrounds, sampling unique dishes, experiencing adventures and numerous opportunities for growth are among the many benefits participants of this program enjoy. Candidates must be between the ages of 16-18.5 at the time of departure and be a freshman, sophomore, junior or senior in high school at the time of application. Students must also demonstrate scholastic competence and be involved in extra curricular activities. Opportunities for traveling abroad through the Farmington club will be available for the 2007/08 school year. Please click here for more information.

Host families living within the Farmington school district boundaries are also needed for the 2007/08 school year. Please click here for more information.

Group Study Exchange

In 2005, the Farmington Rotary Club sponsored a member of the community who was a member of the team who participated in a Group Study Exchange trip to Brazil.

The Group Study Exchange (GSE) program of The Rotary Foundation is a unique cultural and vocational exchange opportunity for young business and professional men and women between the ages of 25 and 40 and in the early years of their professional lives.

The program provides travel grants for teams to exchange visits between paired areas in different countries. For four to six weeks, team members experience the host country's institutions and ways of life, observe their own vocations as practiced abroad, develop personal and professional relationships, and exchange ideas.
