“Community Leaders Serving to Make a Difference” “To provide ‘Service Above Self’ in the VISION 2008 – 2012 Members of the Rotary Club of Farmington have established the following goals for the club as a long term vision for the next five years: Membership: Membership is recognized as the lifeline of the organization. Goal = Grow membership to 60 members by June 30, 2012. Attributes: Through that growth, these are characteristics of the club that are strictly desired to be maintained: High Energy Members Enthusiasm for Rotary, Service and Community A Club that gets things done 90% attendance of meetings, service projects and other events Avenues of Service Goals: The following goals are established by Rotary International’s Avenues of Service. Each Avenue of Service impacts a club’s committees decision in the individual committee annual planning process. Club Service: 1. Primary focus on Quality Programs to attract and retain members 2. Ensure every member is made to feel a vital part of the club 3. Hold a fun, social event quarterly Vocational Service: 1. STRIVE – Ensure implementation and success of program to serve 60 students in four years 2. Encourage, and ensure at least 50% of members, have a relationship with at-risk youth 3. Fund $10,000 - $12,000 in High School Scholarships yearly 4. Host ethics seminars for the business community International Service: 1. Trip to 2. Foster relationship with 3. Encourage and bring STRIVE students on mission/project trips 4. Develop partnership with Protein for Kids to bring nutritional supplements to Community Service: 1. Expand Highway Beautification to cover 2 stretches of Highway 2. Sponsor an Interact Club with 3. Continue benches in all parks and expand to plant a tree next to every Rotary bench 4. Celebrate Rotary in the “Rotary Rotunda” park shelter by 2012 Beyond Avenues of Service: The following goals are establish to ensure the effectiveness and vitality of the club. Fundraising: 1. Foster and develop the Fun Shoot to net $50,000 2. Obtain Grants and major contributions from corporations to fund our larger programs/service projects Rotary Foundation: 1. Honor 5 Honorary Paul Harris Fellows by 2012 2. Attain that 50% of membership is Paul Harris Fellows 3. Attain that 50% of membership is Benefactors Leadership Development: 1. Develop and encourage a strong leadership mentor program through the Presidential Development Council 2. Succeed in each year 2 member attending a district event 3. All President–Elects expenses are covered for them to attend the Rotary International Convention The Vision was established through a facilitated process of Rotary District 5960. Members of the club participated, volunteered their time, through the 4 hour process on November 12, 2007. The membership is strongly encouraged to partake in another facilitated vision process when the club has neared the completion of the goals that been established from now to 2012.
