This Week: Talaya Kluttz

President and Executive Director of Truth House Foundation

Talaya Kluttz is a former teen and young mom who is now the President and Executive Director of Truth House Foundation. Birthed out of her own life experiences, Talaya created Truth House Foundation to focus on helping young moms by assisting them in meeting their family’s physical needs in practical ways, healing young moms by encouraging them to embrace their stories and use their own voice and giving young moms hope by guiding them toward making life decisions that are best for them and their children.

Talaya was 15 years old when she had her first daughter and by the time she was 23 she was a single mother of four daughters. For a long time, Talaya operated in survival mode doing all that she could to care for her and her daughters despite feeling alone, depressed, hopeless, worthless, ashamed, ill-equipped and a whirlwind of other emotions. Talaya lived in poverty, was homeless, involved in abusive relationships and relied on drugs and alcohol for various reasons.

Fast forward years later, Talaya has succeeded through many struggles and has been victorious over many challenges. Talaya is a proud wife and has been married to her husband for over 22 years. Three of their four daughters are married and all four are doing well. In fact, Talaya and her husband have a total of 11 grandchildren! Talaya is a paralegal by trade and worked in the legal department of a financial services company for 21+ years. Talaya and her husband put their two youngest daughters through college and built a home from the ground up.

Talaya knows that because of the transformation that took place in her life, her and her family are thriving. Talaya is passionate about and knows with all her heart that her purpose is, Truth House Foundation’s purpose is, to help other young moms do the same.
