Speaker: The ONE; The ONLY Mr. David McKnight!

Ladies and Gentleman do we have a treat for you this week.  Every once in a while there is a speaker that comes along that speaks to the very core of what we do here in Rotary and what we strive to accomplish every day.  I speak to that of making the best community/city in the state of Minnesota function and run at optimal efficiency. 
 
Not only does he perform at a high level the duties of the City Administrator, is present at high level events and keeps our crazy Rotary finances in order, he is just one heck of a guy.
 
This week we will be hearing all about the wonderful items happening in our community with the State of the City! Come ready with your pens, pencils, notebooks and most of all questions (because we all know David is going to give us ample time for a Q & A) about the State of our City.
Giving back updates
I wanted to share a couple of events that have happened recently where your Farmington Rotary Club was able to give back to some worthy causes.  This is truly Rotary in action!
 
The 1st event was the Breaking Free Annual Picnic:

Breaking Free's annual picnic was a huge success! There was plenty of food, games, prizes, smiles, & laughter, it was a GREAT time! Thank you VERY much to all of our volunteers who helped out at the picnic & thank you to those who have sent in a donation for the picnic! We couldn't have done it without you!
 
 
 
 
The 2nd event was the 4th annual Miracle League game at King's Park in Lakeville where we were able to give $6,000 towards the construction of the new mini golf course that will be adjacent to the baseball field and playground that is already there.
 
 
 
Having fun with Rotary

Ramble Jam in action
It is only through your efforts to support Ramble Jam that Farmington Rotary is able to make a difference in this community and beyond. Farmington Rotary has made the following donations so far this year:

Meeting hosts
A reminder to check the meeting host schedule in the sidebar of The Source to learn when you are scheduled to serve. Each Rotarian serves as a meeting host one month of the year and is responsible for working with your co-host(s) to do the following:
  • Schedule speakers for your month
  • Arrive early to set up
  • Give the meal count to the kitchen
  • Stay late to take down
Please review the meeting host responsibilities for complete details. Contact Janie if you have questions or a conflict with the month you are assigned.
