June 14 meeting: Andean Community Partners
Andean Community Partners began in 2005 when pediatrician Dr. Doug Tate and Professor Ted Johnson developed an interim course at St. Olaf College called Peruvian Medical Experience. For the first two years of the program, 12 premedical and predental students shadowed a surgical team of Children’s Surgical International in Arequipa Peru.

Join us at noon on June 14 at Bourbon Butcher in Farmington, as Dr. Tate takes us on a journey to Peru, where Andean Community Partners now serves 500 to 600 patients annually in their mission to improve the health and well-being of people in Andean communities by focusing on health and infrastructure, while encouraging St. Olaf students to live a life of worth and service.

No meeting July 5
Remember: We are not holding a regular meeting on July 5. The board voted to cancel it due to the July 4 holiday. Now you can go to the cabin guilt-free. Or do whatever else you want to do guilt-free. The choice is yours.
Meeting hosts
A reminder to check the meeting host schedule in the sidebar of The Source to learn when you are scheduled to serve. Each Rotarian serves as a meeting host one month of the year and is responsible for working with your co-host(s) to do the following:
  • Schedule speakers for your month
  • Arrive early to set up
  • Give the meal count to the kitchen
  • Stay late to take down
Please review the meeting host responsibilities for complete details. Contact Janie if you have questions or a conflict with the month you are assigned.

Thank you Sara, TJ and Lori for being great meeting hosts for December.  Leshia, Ann and Krysia ... you are starting off the 2019 calendar year and the half way point of the Rotary year with hosting duties.

Deadline to register for Toxic Charity event
This Friday, June 22, is the deadline to register for District 5960's Fast for Hope event featuring Bob Lupton, author of Toxic Charity. Lupton has been at the forefront of urban ministry activism for 40 years and his experience and research reveals the unintended consequences of modern charity and how it affects those it's meant to serve. Based on his findings, Lupton developed proven new models for charitable groups who want to serve others in ways that lead to lasting, real-world change.

The event is Wednesday, June 27 from 5:30-8 p.m. in Minneapolis.
    Register by June 22
