Catching up
#Fail for last week.  There is no excuse for not sending out The Source last week.  I know most of you set your watch to when The Source gets sent out and for that I apologize.  I will make sure to have the world clock on me at the meeting so your clock can be reset.

Last week's speaker transitions nicely into this week's speaker.  Last week we had Lauren Rimestad join us from Women's Advocates who was the first shelter in the NATION for women and their children to escape domestic violence.  It was a tough talk to listen to but at the same time it was and is needed to continue.  She primarily focused on Domestic Violence and was able to intertwine items that were related to Sex Trafficking as well.

She had also come in with a powerful study that was done by the Polaris's research team that analyzed data from December 2007 to December 2016.  The report of their findings can be found here.  Please take a look at it when you have a chance.  The more you know, the more can be done to combat this atrocity that is happening in every community around the world.
360 Communities: ***Disclaimer*** Heavy topic on sexual/domestic violence in our communtiy
The disclaimer is out there and you have been forewarned that this meeting will be heavy.  I know that when I go out and give the "Out Of The Shadows" presentation for our district I need to preface my speech with this.

Stacie Burke, Heather Kolling (with Victim Support) along with Ranger and Coco (Victim Support dogs) will be giving us an eye opening account of what is happening in our community and neighboring ones in relation to domestic and sexual abuse.

Please do all you can to attend this meeting.

Giving Totals for 2018
I have been holding onto this information for a little while now... trying to figure out the best time to spread the news.  The end of the year is approaching and it seems fitting to give the news.

For 2018 we have given back an astonishing $61,203!

Here is the list as of Mid-October which does not account for almost $30,000 we were able to give back to community groups for their raffle sales.  It is amazing how when a group of like-minded, service oriented individuals get together, the amount of giving that can be done.  And don't forget the countless hours each of you have put into this club with service projects and a multitude of items that go into being a Rotarian. Way to go group!
