Farmington Rotary hosted 21 students from Farmington High School on April 26 to recognize their efforts and ambition with STRIVE. STRIVE stands for Students Taking a Renewed Interest in Valuing Education. In this student-led program, seniors from Farmington High School work toward improving their academic and personal skills as they move toward graduation. Rotarians participate as mentors and facilitators at weekly meetings.

"STRIVE has helped me learn to not procrastinate. It's taught me the importance of doing my homework today instead of waiting until tomorrow," said one STRIVE student.

Rotarian Shannon Nielsen reminded the students, "We get just as much out of this as you do. Sometimes I go to STRIVE and need it more than you."

STRIVE wraps up the 2017-18 academic year June 1. A new year of STRIVE will begin in October of 2018. Thank you to Rotarian Jamie Thompson for his passion in organizing and leading Farmington Rotary's STRIVE program.
